With the pending (well-deserved) retirement of John Stroschine, our current Business Development Specialist/Loan Fund Manager, NWRPC has hired Jeff Dietrich as a new member of our staff.
Jeff joined us on October 15th, 2012 and we will be providing many opportunities for everyone to meet him in person. Until then, however, here is a flavor of what he is all about.
What are your degrees, qualifications, and previous work experience that pertain to your position as a Business Development Specialist at NWRPC?I have a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Millersville University in Pennsylvania. I worked for community banks in the Lancaster, PA area as a business banker/commercial loan officer. I worked with many small businesses to obtain financing for start-ups, commercial real estate, and working capital purposes, just to name a few. Working in the commercial banking industry allowed me to develop my credit analysis and relationship management skills, which I believe will be vital to my success at the NWRPC.
What are you most proud of accomplishing in the past few years? One thing that I am appreciative of is my military service with the United States Army and Army Reserve. I deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in 2006, and remained on Active Duty at Fort McCoy, WI through October 2011. I am extremely thankful for my wonderful wife and daughter who have stuck with me during these often hard times over the past few years. We are very excited to be in Northwest Wisconsin and starting a new chapter in our lives!
Why did you decide to work in this field? When I was working as a commercial loan officer, I always loved when I had the chance to help small business owners achieve their goals and dreams. As a business development specialist with NWRPC, I am looking forward to working with new and established businesses to assist with providing financing solutions that are not otherwise available from traditional sources. I realize that in order for the NWRPC to be successful, we need small business to take a few chances and flourish in our region. I am fortunate to join the staff here at the NWRPC. I am very eager to carry on the tradition of continued success and leading service initiatives that have been set forth by others in the NWRPC.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?My wife and I both like to play indoor and outdoor volleyball. We have traveled all around the country over the years playing in various tournaments. We were both fortunate to play for the All-Army and All-Armed Forces volleyball teams while we served on Active Duty. We also both like to hike and do trail running. Now that we are in Northwest Wisconsin, I am hoping to have some time to dust off my fishing pole and do some hunting, which will all be right outside our door.
