We are very excited to proudly highlight each month someone from our wonderful staff here at NWRPC! Our May employee being "spotlighted" is Heidi Buchmann, Finance Specialist.

Tell us a little about yourself: I was born and raised right here in Spooner and married a ‘hometown’ boy. We raised five children and have two grandchildren. My hobbies include gardening and crafts and I enjoy remodeling and building homes with my husband.
What is your role at NWRPC and what are you currently working on?
I began my career with NWRPC as secretary to the Executive Director and moved into the Finance Specialist position two years later. I support the loan programs of NWRPC, NWBDC, WBIC and NWREDF by completing loan documents, tracking loan repayments, and filing reports to federal and state agencies. Keeping loan files up to date with current financials and insurance information is a constant project. I also do the tenant billing for the enterprise centers in our region and support the Fiscal Director in her duties.
How long have you worked for NWRPC and what has been your proudest moment working here?
I’m in my 17th year at NWRPC and my proudest moment came from a sticky note included with a borrower’s loan payment which said, “Thanks for listening and the support. It’s people like you that help me get through the day.”
What do you enjoy most about working at NWRPC?
My commute. It’s five minutes. Also the flexibility and support of staff. During my first 10 years here, I had five high school graduations, four college graduations and three weddings. I also had two children survive cancer and lost both parents and my father-in-law. It is important to have the flexibility to take care of family.
What’s your personal motto?
How may I help you? We’re not in this world to achieve personal gain, but to help each other on our life journeys.
Lastly, as a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a mom… and design/build houses. Guess I did that.
