NWBDC Funds Distributed to Moosie’s Ice Cream Parlor

Moosie's Ice Cream Parlor Northwest Regional Planning Commission Program Manager John Stroschine pictured on the right presents a Northwest Wisconsin Business Development Corporation check to Gary Jensen owner of Moosie’s Ice Cream Parlor.  Equity funds along with loans from NWBDC and the Taylor County Revolving Loan Fund were used to open the business located next to the Medford Inn on State Highway 13 in the City of Medford.  The business serves both hand-dipped and soft-serve ice cream in a number of different flavors and novelty ice cream dessert items.

Old Rittenhouse Inn Recieves NWBDC Funds

Old Rittenhouse Inn Northwest Regional Planning Commission Program Manager John Stroschine, pictured on the left, presents a Northwest Wisconsin Business Development Corporation check to Jerry Phillips owner of the Old Rittenhouse Inn Bayfield, WI.  Equity funds along with the NWBDC loan will be used to remodel the business’ kitchen and purchase new equipment.  The kitchen remodel and new equipment will allow the business to offer a new ala carte menu in place of their current fixed price menu.

D. R. Tech, Inc. in Grantsburg Receives Funding From NWBDC

D.R. Tech, Inc Northwest Regional Planning Commission Program Manager John Stroschine, pictured on the right, presents a Northwest Wisconsin Business Development Corporation check to D.R. Tech, Inc. President Rick Leffleman (center) and D.R. Tech, Inc. General Manger Jon Bram.  Equity funds along with funding from the Community Bank of Grantsburg and NWBDC were used to help the business expand its operations in the Town of Grantsburg.  The project is expected to retain 44 existing employees while creating an additional 12 full-time jobs over the next three years.

To the left is a photo taken of NWRPC Chairman Doug Finn presenting a joint check from the Douglas County revolving loan fund and Northwest Wisconsin Business Development Corporation revolving loan fund to Doug Stetzer President and CEO for Clearly Superior, Inc. Clearly Superior, Inc. produces a unique thickened water product (AquaCareH2O) that has the potential to attract a nationwide market. AquaCareH2O is designed to improve the quality of life for people suffering from dysphagia, a medical condition that impacts a persons ability to swallow. Potential patients include people suffering from strokes, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinsons disease, throat cancer, spinal cord injury and Alzheimers disease.
