The Northwest Enterprise Center Network (NWECN) business incubation program was developed by NWRPC in partnership with numerous organizations at the local, state and federal levels. The purpose of the program is to provide necessary resources to enhance technology-based business development; resulting in added economic diversification and strength within the region through the creation of high-skill, high wage jobs. The network consists of ten incubators located in six communities that serve a wide variety of companies ranging from high tech to traditional manufacturing.

Business incubators are facilities designed to accommodate start-up and expanding companies that usually provide a range of business support services and resources that accelerate the success of the business. Providing a comprehensive package of business resources that includes flexible lease space, business technical assistance, revolving loan funds and venture capital financing is necessary to promote the development and commercialization of leading edge technologies and to cultivate a favorable entrepreneurial environment for growth oriented companies.

Results to date:
  • 40 Companies
  • 373 jobs
  • 53 Million Annual Sales
  • $16.8 Million Annual Payroll
  • $42.2 Million Private Investment

The network is vital to the success of the regional economic development strategy and has become a significant component of the economy in northwest Wisconsin.
