Northwest Regional Planning Commission held its Annual Meeting at Flat Creek Inn & Suites in Hayward, WI on Wednesday, June 27th, 2012 at 9:30 a.m.
Chairman Doug Finn welcomed the attendees and expressed what great partnerships have been formed throughout the Northwest Region. Minutes of the December Semi-Annual Meeting were approved as well as the June 2012 Vouchers.
Elections of the NWRPC officers took place with Doug Finn, Douglas County being re-elected to Chair, Randy Tatur, Rusk County being re-elected to Vice Chair, and Hal Helwig, Sawyer County being re-elected to Secretary of the Commission.
Mike Mayhew from Clifton, Larsen, Allen, LLC presented the 2011 Annual Audit for approval to the group and answered questions that attendees had regarding the audit. The Commission also approved the adoption of the 2013 Membership Levy which saw no increase or decrease for the 2013 calendar year. The Community Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) was also presented by Wayne Lindemans, Business Development Specialist at NWRPC for approval by the board.
Several Federal and State Representatives were present for the meeting and gave brief updates including: Marjorie Bunce from U.S. Senator Herb Kohl's office, Scott Bolstad from U.S. Senator Ron Johnson's office, Mary Willett from U.S. Representative Sean Duffy's office, Jeff Buhrandt from State Senator Bob Jauch's office, Roger Rivard - State Representative, and Janet Bewley - State Representative. Representatives from other State and Federal Organizations were also present and spoke briefly, including: Tom Beekman with the WisDOT, Matt Moroney from the WiDNR, and Mark O'Connell with WI Counties Association.
Two keynote speakers were welcomed by the Commission including Rod Kleiss from Kleiss Gears in Grantsburg, WI and Paul Jadin with the WI Economic Development Corporation.
The meeting adjourned and a lunch was served around 12:30 p.m. The next meeting of the NWRPC Executive Committee, will be on Wednesday, July 25th, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at the NWRPC office in Spooner.
